Tell us about yourself.
I was born in Pennsylvania, but due to my dad’s job, I moved every 4-5 years growing up. In fact, I went to high school in London, England. After moving back to America, I studied business and worked on Wall Street for Barclays Bank. It wasn’t until my daughters were born that I went back to school for my teacher’s (elementary ed) certification. I have been in the field of education for over 20 years now!
What’s your favorite thing about NAC or teaching English in general?
I love meeting students from all over the globe. Sometimes I think I learn just as much from them as they do from me. I enjoy hearing about the customs, sites, and food of their lands!
What’s your favorite thing about Denver or Colorado?
You might think it would be the mountains, but actually it is Denver’s music scene. Denver has excellent venues – my favorite is Red Rocks — and a bustling scene with lots of home grown talent!
What place do you recommend that everybody visit when they come to Denver or Colorado?
Hiking = Anywhere!
What’s something interesting about you?
I love to scuba dive – I got my open water certification and have dived in Thailand, Mexico, and the Philippines!
Do you have any pets?
I have a mutt named Jake who still acts like a crazy puppy and a cat named Murphy.
What are your hobbies?
Swimming, reading, hiking, travel, and music.
