What languages do you speak?
English, some Spanish, a very little Mandarin, and I’ve forgotten most of my French.
What are some places you’ve lived?
I’m from California and I’ve lived all over it, plus I lived in Washington state for a while (Seattle). I’ve wanted to move to CO for about six years, and I am so glad to be here now!
Tell us about yourself.
“Work smart and play hard” is my motto. I believe in getting things done thoroughly and efficiently, but not wasting unnecessary energy and effort. I also believe in enjoying as much of life as you can every day, and in taking care of your health.
What’s your favorite thing about NAC or teaching English in general?
I love meeting amazing, intelligent people from so many different countries. Since I love to travel, it’s like having the world come to me. I also like helping people build practical linguistic skills by teaching them to think about language in new ways.
What’s your favorite thing about Denver or Colorado?
It’s so easy to get out into the wilderness! I’m an outdoors junkie. Also, the people are so nice here. In California, you take your life in your hands when you drive on the freeway.
What’s something interesting about yourself?
I can fold my tongue backward in half. Not in rolls. It’s genetic.
Do you have any pets?
As anyone who has ever taken my class will tell you, I love cats. I only have one, though… for now.
What are your hobbies?
Yoga, hiking, painting, writing, cooking.
